“I know all about being a Pheasant Plucker.

I know what it’s like to try and explain something but get it completely wrong, sometimes with disastrous results.

Finding the right words can be the hardest thing when you’re faced with a blank page, and an equally blank mind.

For years I worked in Business Administration with policy and contract copy where the margin for error is terrifyingly small; writing presentation decks, editing public relations content, proof reading, honing, tweaking… but never my own ideas. Always someone else’s baby. I was always the bridesmaid but never the bride.

On the sidelines I was writing my own stuff, most of it creative trash – and some of that you’ll find here on my blog today.

Since then I have been a small business owner several times over and with each incarnation I have faced new blank pages that needed to mean EVERYTHING to my target audience.

I understand that this can be a terrifying prospect. In a World where the brand message relies heavily on influencers and ambassadors it needs to be a heavyweight in it’s field. You need to find your Tyson or risk becoming diluted.”
